Raelene’s career in the service and hospitality industry spans over 30 years.  Starting in operational roles, leading and managing service departments in a hotel/casino environment shaped the path for the future.  The past 17 years have been in senior HR roles with a focus on Industrial Relations and all aspects of people management.  The past 15 years at GCCEC have been exciting and challenging as the Executive Manager – HR and also the Deputy General Manager since 2007.

Raelene attained her MBA in 2011, completing a thesis on employee engagement. She also has a diploma in management and has been honoured with 2 awards recognising her leadership and management skills and experience.

A/Prof Christophe DOCHE holds a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science. He is currently Executive Director of the Optus Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub. His portfolio includes research in the field of cryptography and information security, education with the design of undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs and engagement via the development of collaborations with industry and government. He is also leading the executive education and continuous professional development programs offered by the Cyber Security Hub. As such, he has managed the design and delivery of short courses for more than 300 Optus staff at every level of the organisation.

Since the completion of his Bachelor of Business Degree in 2009, Daniel has strived to understand and learn the full remit of the HR Generalist space. This has included roles within Learning & Development, Recruitment, and HR Generalist teams across Australia.

A key highlight was his time as Regional HR Advisor with WorleyParsons, a leading global Engineering consultancy firm, where he spent several years managing the Graduate Program for the Australia East region.

More recently, Daniel has spent several years with Merlin Entertainments, a global entertainment and tourism attraction company, in a number of roles such as HR Advisor for QLD/NZ attractions, HR Manager for Falls Creek Ski Resort and Head of HR – ANZ. In this last role, he led an HR team managing 11 tourism attractions across Australia and New Zealand.

During his career, Daniel has seen the significant changes occurring from the development of HR technology. He understands its significant benefits but also strives to ensure the ‘People’ element of HR is maintained when it comes to being an effective business partner.
